Guys and Dolls is one of productions and roles that are available at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre

The Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre and The Off Broadway Palm Theatre are holding open auditions for men and women for five productions in the 2007/2008 season on Sunday, Aug. 26, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Auditions are on a first-come, first-served basis. A sign-up sheet will be available at 3 p.m. No appointments will be taken.

Anyone interested in auditioning for a singing role should bring a current headshot, resume and be prepared to sing 16 bars. Please bring sheet music in the proper key, an accompanist will be provided (no audio tapes, please). Anyone interested in auditioning for Lend Me a Tenor, a non-singing role, should bring a current headshot and resume, and be prepared to read from the show (a script will be provided).

Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre and The Off Broadway Palm Theatre are professional theatres. All roles are paid positions. Broadway Palm and Off Broadway Palm productions require a two-week rehearsal process as well as daytime and evening rehearsals. Anyone interested must be available for the two-week rehearsal process and all performances. Shows are Tuesday through Sunday Evenings with selected matinees on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday.

The following are the productions and roles that are available for The Off Broadway Palm Theatre (located in the lobby of Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre):

• Funny, You Don't Look Like a Grandmother,

a musical comedy revue, plays Oct. 25 through Dec. 22. Casting for: a strong actor and singer to play the role of a Grandmother, 45 to 60 years old and a strong actor and singer to play the role of a Grandfather, 45 to 60 years old. Rehearsals begin Oct. 11.

• Monky Business, a musical comedy, playing Jan. 17 through March 15. Casting for: two male character actors, baritones, 25 to 40 years old. Rehearsals begin Jan. 3.

• Lend Me a Tenor, a comedy, plays March 20 through May 3. Casting for: strong male and female actors, 25 to 35 years old and a male operatic actor. Rehearsals begin March 6.

The following are the productions and roles that are available for Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre:

• Holly Jolly Christmas, a holiday revue, playing Nov. 22 through Dec. 25. Casting for: a strong female singer, alto, who moves well, 16-plus years old and a strong female dancer, who sings well, 16-plus years old. Rehearsals begin Nov. 8.

• Guys and Dolls, a musical, playing Dec. 29 through Feb. 17. Casting for: the roles of Nathan Detroit, Nicely-Nicely and Benny Southstreet, 25 to 50 years old, all strong singers and character actors. A strong female singer, soprano, to play a Hot Box girl and understudy Sarah Brown, 20 to 30 years old. Rehearsals begin Dec. 10. The entire production moves to the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, Broadway Palm's sister theatre in Pennsylvania, and runs there April 7 through May 24.
