Local doctor makes "Best in America" list

Dr. Jonathan Frantz

Local Ophthalmologist Dr. Jonathan M. Frantz has been selected by his peers to be included in the "Best Doctors in America 2007-2008" database. He had previously been included in the 2005-2006 database. The "Best Doctors" database is a resource that contains the names and professional profiles of approximately 40,000 of the best doctors in the United States. Best Doctors represents only 5% of all doctors in the U.S. who earn this honor, which is based on a nationwide physician survey of more than one million voters Best Doctors serves over 10 million people in 30 countries and has worldwide acclaim for successfully connecting patients to the best medical care.

Frantz established Florida Eye Health in Fort Myers in 1994. His practice now has locations in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Punta Gorda and Naples. A fifth location is scheduled to open later this fall in Lehigh Acres.

As a two-year fellowship-trained cornea and refractive specialist, Dr. Frantz concentrates his practice on :

His medical team includes a medical ophthalmologist and six board-certified optometric physicians who provide pre and post-operative care, as well as management of eye diseases and routine eye exams. Frantz has been a pioneer of laser technology since 1987. As the area's leading LASIK surgeon, he performed the first Excimer laser procedure in Florida for nearsightedness and astigmatism and was the first surgeon in Southwest Florida to offer CustomVue LASIK in 2003.
