Brooks & Freund has been awarded a contract to build Shoppes at the Forest, located at 16237 and 16234 S. Tamiami Trail in Fort Myers. The project includes construction of a 12,984-square-foot building with Mediterranean architecture. The building will house six retail units, each offering 2,150 square feet. Dennis Hirsch of Brooks & Freund will serve as project manager, and George Sands will serve as job superintendent. The developer of the project is Shoppes at the Forest, LLC, and Lloyd Mandel is the managing member. Quattrone & Associates will provide engineering services. Architectural design services were provided by Sheeley Architects. Construction is expected to be complete in January 2008.
Fort Myers-based J.L. Wallace Inc. has begun construction of the Fitness Center and Chickee Bar at Heritage Bay. Developed by Lennar Homes, the new community is located at 10168 Heritage Bay Blvd. in Naples. The 7,986-square-foot fitness center will consist of a workout room, aerobics room, salon, massage parlor and a 1,998-square-foot swimming pool with spa. The 1,972-square-foot Chickee Bar, which will offer food and beverages, will be accented with Coronado cultured stone to match the existing amenities constructed by J.L. Wallace within the Heritage Bay development. David Grossman of J.L. Wallace is the project manager, and Michael Seifert is the superintendent. Tisch and Associates provided architectural design services.
Stevens Construction Inc. has begun renovation of the 15,000-square-foot office building at 4571 Colonial Blvd. Land Solutions Inc. awarded the construction contract. To allow space for additional tenants, Burt Hill/Pollock Krieg Architects Inc. has redesigned the contemporary building's interior space. Stevens Construction will convert the single existing office into three tenant spaces. Office space is available for purchase or lease. Stevens Construction is installing impact doors and windows to meet Dade County hurricane building code. The company also is painting the exterior of the building, installing new floor covering, and replacing the heating and cooling systems, as well as fire alarm and security systems. Marty McClain of Stevens Construction is the project manager, Lenny Macari is the superintendent, and Lizette Martin is the project administrator. The project is expected to be complete by late summer.
Fort Myers-based Eagle Concrete Systems has begun the concrete work on the 16,323-square-foot Hopgood Building at Mercantile Avenue between Industrial Boulevard and Commercial Boulevard. Eagle Concrete is building the office and warehouse facility with steel-reinforced, concrete blocks. The project will include a wholesale fish packaging plant, freezer and office space. Disney & Associates designed the structure. The Torrey Company is the general contractor. The structural concrete work is scheduled for completion by September 2007. Bobby Vetri of Eagle Concrete Systems is the project executive, and Alonso Castillo is the project superintendent.
Eagle Concrete Systems has completed concrete work on the Forum Center Shops located in the Home Depot Center at Forum Boulevard and Dynasty Drive. The shopping plaza offers 21,432 square feet of retail shopping space to 16 tenants. Additional construction continues on the project. Designed by BAC Boca Architects Corporation, the building was built with tilt-wall concrete technology. Bobby Vetri of Eagle Concrete Systems was the project executive, and Abel Limones was the project superintendent. Brooks & Freund is the general contractor.
