Northern Trust named title sponsor of Wine Fest event

Fort Myers Northern Trust Bank will be a title sponsor of The Southwest Florida Wine Fest, one of the area's premier charity events.

The bank joins 23 area chefs, 19 hosts of chef vintner dinners in Lee and Collier Counties, more than 20 sponsors and a legion of Fort Myers Rotary Club volunteers as a major supporter of the Fourth Annual Southwest Florida Wine Fest.

"We are so pleased to have Northern Trust join the Wine Fest this year," said Dr. Steve Machiz, founding chairman of Wine Fest

The 2006 Wine Fest netted more than $180,000 in proceeds for charity, and event organizers hope to raise $250,000 this year.

"We believe that vibrant and healthy communities benefit all who live and work in them," said Sandy Robinson, president of Northern Trust Fort Myers.

The Northern Trust Southwest Florida Wine Fest Gala will be hosted at the Bonita Bay Club on Saturday night, Nov. 10, with Chef Vintner Dinners hosted in private homes throughout Lee and Collier counties on Friday, Nov. 9.
