Education commissioner to speak at ball

Florida State Commissioner of Education Jeanine Blomberg will be the featured speaker at the 2007 Black and White Educational Ball held by the Fort Myers Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. at the Harborside Event Center in Fort Myers on Saturday, Sept. 8. The program begins at 6:30 p.m.

Proceeds from this annual event will be used to provide financial support to local students through the Fraternity's scholarship assistance program, which has been a past practice for more than 30 years.

Commissioner Blomberg has distinguished herself throughout her more than 30-year education career and is well known at both the state and national levels for her contributions to research-driven and accountable education policy and practice.

The theme for the event is "Education in the 21st Century". Tickets are available from any member of the Fraternity or by calling 433-4043. ¦
