Questionable judgments
The medical association in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu reprimanded Dr. K. Murugesan in June after his arrest for unremorsefully allowing his 15-year-old son to perform a Caesarean section on one of his patients. Murugesan wanted his son to qualify for a world record in the Guinness Book. The baby was born with a fatal congenital defect said to be unrelated to the surgery, but Tamil Nadu's health minister termed Murugesan's office a "butcher's shop." ¦
