Museum event features author Robert Macomber

Go back in time to 1879 with Lt. Peter Wake at the Southwest Florida Museum of History when this month's Night at the Museum welcomes maritime author and local resident Robert Macomber.

It's all part of the Museum's exciting new program, "Night at the Museum - An Author's Evening" - a community-based monthly event open to the public to help raise funds for the museum.

Internationally recognized award-winning author Robert Macomber introduces his newest novel, 'A Different Kind of Honor.' At the museum event on Thursday, Sept. 13.

The sixth in Macomber's popular "Honor" series, 'A Different Kind of Honor' follows Lt. Cmdr. Peter Wake, U.S. Navy, on special assignment as the official American Neutral Naval Observer to The War of the Pacific raging along the west coast of South America. In the end, he confronts a very different kind of honor that will haunt Peter Wake for the rest of his life.

This special evening in Lee County kicks-off the book tour for Macomber's newest novel and provides attendees with an opportunity to meet and talk with a man who not only has traversed the waterways as a sailor himself, but writes about one after much research and historical study bringing his characters, travels and history to life.

From 7-9 pm, enjoy light fare and refreshments from Joe's Crab Shack, dessert by Mason's Bakery, a presentation by the featured author and a meet-and-greet book signing - all for just $25 per person.
