Dr. Larry Antonucci, an obstetrician-gynecologist and co-founder of Physicians Primary Care of Southwest Florida, is the new Chief Administrative Officer for Cape Coral Hospital.
Originally from the Bronx, Antonucci has practiced in Lee County since 1983. During that time, he helped to create Physicians Primary Care, which has grown to 50 providers and more than 300 employees.
Antonucci will no longer have his OB-GYN practice when he begins his new administrative duties with Cape Coral Hospital, but he will continue to serve as medical director for the Cape and Lee Memorial Health System Obstetric Services.
"Physicians Primary Care is a prominent caregiver in Cape Coral, and I look forward to continuing a strong partnership with the group from a new perspective," Antonucci said.
Antonucci received the Saks and Lee Cancer Care "Key to the Cure" Humanitarian Award in 2006 for his expertise and dedication in women's cancer care.
He attended medical school at the University of Miami and also earned a master's in business administration from the University of South Florida. He is also a certified physician executive through the American College of Physician Executives.
Antonucci lives in Lee County with his wife of 27 years, Becky. They have three daughters: Lauren, a senior at the University of Florida; Kate, a junior at the University of Florida; and Rachel, a senior at Fort Myers High School. ¦
