Latin art exhibit at history museum
SPECIAL TO FLORIDA WEEKLY
A confluence of vibrant colors, strong emotions and lifelong experiences converge
onto canvas and take shape in sculpture during the 'Art Expressions of Latin America' Art Exhibit opening Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Southwest Florida Museum of History in downtown Fort Myers.
Thirteen artists from eight countries add up to one great experience during national Hispanic Heritage Month. Recognizing the growth of the fastest growing segment of the Southwest Florida population, this exhibit seeks to educate and share with visitors the themes central to Hispanic life and culture but also reflect those no matter what the country of origin.
Dance, literature, home land, nature and expression of emotions will fill the museum exhibit hall through Nov. 17. Showcasing the talents of artists in media such as oils, pastels, acrylics, bronze sculpture and more, visitors will be moved by topics, experiences and memories of another place and inspired by the influence of Latin values for American culture.
Like the Hispanic community, whose lively and exciting presence in America is apparent, the museum is pleased to highlight this vibrant showcase of artwork by some of the premier Latin American artists now residing in Florida.
