Community Bank of Cape Coral has appointed J. Steven Root to the position of President and CEO. Root, a founding director of the bank had been serving as acting president prior to his promotion. Chris Ferrer, the founder and former president of the bank, has taken a medical leave of absence, yet will maintain his standing on the bank's Board of Directors. Root, a Cape Coral resident, has 40 years of commercial banking experience and has held executive positions in large regional banks as well as community banks in Ohio, Indiana and Florida. He earned a bachelor's degree from Kent State University and has a degree from the Advanced Management Program from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
