FGCU art on display at SW Florida International Airport

As part of the Lee County Port Authority's "Art in Flight Program," an exhibition has been recently installed in the public areas at Southwest Florida International Airport. This is the first art show at the airport and features Florida Gulf Coast University art faculty and staff. This triennial FGCU Art Faculty and Staff Exhibit features paintings, sculptures, ceramics, illustrations and photography. The exhibit will be on display for six months and coincides with the celebration of Florida Gulf Coast University's 10th anniversary.

"We feel the travel experience at the airport will be enhanced with the addition of new, local works of art throughout the terminal," said Robert M. Ball, executive director of the Lee County Port Authority. "We are happy to partner with our neighbors at Florida Gulf Coast University as they celebrate 10 years of education and the arts in Southwest Florida."

The following seven faculty and staff from FGCU have their art displayed at Southwest Florida International Airport: Patricia J. Fay, Associate Professor of Art; Geoffrey Hamel, Adjunct Professor; Andrew Morris, Art Gallery Studio Manager; Morgan T. Paine, Associate Professor or Art, founding faculty member of the FGCU Art Program; Carl E. Schwartz, Art Instructor; Anica Sturdivant, Art Gallery Assistant Curator; Mary Sullivan Voytek, Assistant Professor of Art.
