More road closings downtown
And some openings

Work crews have closed the following streets for the next phase of the Downtown Utility and Streetscape Improvements Project. These roads are scheduled to be closed for approximately four to five months.

· Bay Street - from the City of Palms Parking Garage west (through the Monroe Street intersection) to Heitman Street (not including the Bay/Heitman intersection)

· Monroe Street - from Bay Street north to Edwards Drive (between Harborside and the U.S. Post Office)

Vehicles will still be able to enter the City of Palms Parking Garage on Monroe Street or Bay Street and will exit the parking garage east onto Bay Street which is a two-way street.

Edison National Bank and SunTrust Bank drive-through bank service windows located between First Street and Heitman Street will remain open and accessible from First Street. Customers are asked to use caution when exiting the service windows.

The U.S. Post Office located at the corner of Monroe Street and Edwards Drive may be accessed from Edwards Drive or Heitman Street. Harborside Event Center may be accessed from Bay Street (east of the City of Palms Parking Garage) or Edwards Drive.

The good news is: Bay Street from Jackson Street to Dean Street and Hendry Street from Bay Street to Edwards Drive opened last week in time for the Taste of the Town and The Fort Myers Boat Show.
