New physicians join Lee Memorial Health System

Lee Memorial Health System announced the following physicians joined countywide hospital system last month:

Reggie Augusthy, DO - Physiatry, obtained his osteopathic degree at Des Moines University of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his Internship at Medical Center of Independence, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at the University of Kansas, and an Interventional Spine Fellowship at the Florida Spine Institute. Augusthy is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is affiliated with Orthopedic Specialists of Southwest Florida.

Marshall Bedder, MD - Pain Management, obtained his medical degree at the University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine, completed a Mixed-Medicine and Anesthesiology Internship and Anesthesia Residency at the University of Manitoba, and is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Bedder is affiliated with Advanced Pain Management Specialists.

Marcia Carbo-Calas, MD - Pediatrics, obtained her medical degree at the Superior Institute of Medical Sciences of La Habana, Cuba; completed the first year of her Pediatrics Residency at the University of Puerto Rico and continued at the University of Louisville (Kosair Children's Hospital). Carbo-Calas is affiliated with the PICU Intensivists.

Ankush Gulati, MD - Nephrology, obtained his medical degree at Gandhi Medical College; completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Long Island College Hospital, and Nephrology Fellowship at Temple University Hospital. Gulati is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and affiliated with Lee Kidney Center.

Silvia Velasquez, MD - Infectious Disease, obtained her medical degree from the University Peruana Cayetano Heredia (Lima, Peru), continued her training at Henry Ford Hospital with an Internal Medicine Residency and Infectious Disease Fellowship, and is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. Velasquez is affiliated with Internal Medicine Associates.

Matthew Ward, MD - Radiology, obtained his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, continued with a transitional Internship at Mercy Catholic Medical Center and completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Aultman Hospital. Ward is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology and affiliated with Radiology Regional Center. ¦
