Downtown streets closed for construction

Beginning Thursday, Jan. 3 crews are scheduled to close the following areas for the next phase of the Downtown Utility and Streetscape Improvements Project:

• Main Street from Broadway (including the intersection at Main Street and Broadway) west to the Federal Court House.

• Broadway from Main Street to First Street (the intersection at First Street and Broadway will NOT be closed during this phase).

Contractors from this project and Hotel Indigo are coordinating to minimize closures to Main Street.

Second Street from Hendry Street to Monroe Street is scheduled to open before crews close the next phase. Broadway from Second Street to Main Street is also nearing completion; crews are laying brick in this area over the next few weeks and it is scheduled to open in mid-January.

This schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather and other conditions.

Other streets closed include:

• Bay Street - from the City of Palms Parking Garage west (through the Monroe Street intersection) to Heitman Street (not including the Bay/Heitman intersection) is closed.

• Monroe Street - from Bay Street north to Edwards Drive (between Harborside and the U.S. Post Office) is closed.

• Lee Street - South of First Street to Second Street is closed including the intersection at Lee Street and Second Street.

• Broadway - from south of Second Street north through the Second Street intersection is closed.

• Second Street - from Hendry Street to Monroe Street is closed.
