Shell Point sets concert series
SPECIAL TO FLORIDA WEEKLY

The Southwest Florida Symphony will perform two concerts at Shell Point Retirement Community in the new Southwest Florida Symphony Concert Series.

The series will feature two concerts including:

How Sweet the Sound on Saturday Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m. (tickets are $18) Southwest Florida Symphony performs with the chorus, children's chorus and acclaimed guest composer/pianist William Dawson and organist Michael Helman. Favorite hymns, folk songs and rousing spirituals illuminate the richness of the great American musical experience.

Vive Le France on Monday March 10 at 7:30 p.m. (tickets are $25)

The Symphony Chamber Chorus and guests present a musical celebration of early 20th century France featuring Faure's Requiem - one of the most spiritually uplifting and beautiful requiems ever composed.

"This is a new opportunity at Shell Point," said Dawn Boren, director of resort services for Shell Point. "We are pleased to be hosting the Symphony and this adds to the wide variety of other performances available at Shell Point."

Tickets are currently on sale for both concerts. Purchase both concerts for $35 for a savings of $8. To purchase tickets or for additional information about the concert series, call (239) 454-2067.

The concerts are held in The Village Church auditorium on the Island at Shell Point. Shell Point Retirement Community is a continuing care retirement community located in Fort Myers just off Summerlin Road, just two miles before the Sanibel causeway.
