This year's event, entitled "The Art of Design," will transform over 5,000 square feet at the IDC into an exhibit of unique interior home designs with applications of the most current materials and technology.

"With each Showcase, the bar is raised higher," said Deborah Hamilton, IDC Marketing Manager. "However, I am confident that the creative force involved with the 2008 Showcase will produce displays that result in the most favorable public response to date as well as enviable buzz in the interior design community."

The two-week event also includes a series of workshops and seminars for ticket holders on a wide range of topics from designing "green" to lighting, color and more. A Preview Gala, by invitation only, will launch The Art of Design on Sunday, Feb. 17.

Tickets to the 2008 Designer Showcase are $20 and can be obtained in the Baker Stickley or Pierre Deux showrooms at the IDC, through the Symphony Society and Symphony Box Office at (239) 418-1500 or purchased online at www.swflso.org/tickets
