International Airport enhances Web site

New tools for travelers and visitors to Southwest Florida International Airport's Web site - www.flylcpa.com - are now available to assist with making travel arrangements. In partnership with Innovata, LLC, an Atlanta-based aggregator and software services company, the Lee County Port Authority has added Innovata's SRS Route Map services with links to Internet Timetable Displays and Reservation Systems to the airport's Web site. Southwest Florida International Airport is the first airport in the Americas to offer this service on its site.

"The Lee County Port Authority is committed to bringing the latest in technology and convenience for the travelers at Southwest Florida International Airport," said Robert M. Ball, executive director of the Lee County Port Authority. "We are very pleased to be the first airport in the Americas to have an interactive route map on our Web site that customers can use to make travel planning easier."

The SRS Route Map displays destinations served by direct and connecting flights, as well as the airlines that operate those routes, using the latest Flash technology. The maps are automatically updated from schedule data contained in the SRS database. This allows passengers to view an easy-to-read route map with cities to see the many routes offered from Fort Myers and instantly get a listing of flight possibilities. It then links conveniently to a timetable with flight data and then passengers can go one step further from that point and book their flights through Booking- Buddy.com. This site offers many options for booking flights and making other travel arrangements like hotel and rental car.

"This product launch has been one of the most exciting and successful in our history," said Richard Thorne who heads the aviation division at Innovata. "This service allows Web site visitors to view an entire network on a map, then link to a timetable and then choose a particular booking engine if they want to proceed with their arrangements."

In addition to the flight mapping service, there are a few other items of interest for technically-savvy travelers. Southwest Florida International Airport's Web site offers the latest flight schedules that are downloadable to your desktop computer, Palm, pocket PC devices and a link to schedules for Treo, Blackberry and Smartphone users. This gives people direct access to flight schedules at any time or location. To find these useful tools, go to www.flylcpa.com and click on the first header called "Flight Info."
