The Seaweed Gallery in Matlacha will host a reception from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 14.

Ed Brown, whose watercolor works depict island living, will be the featured artist.

Brown travels all over the state snapping pictures of subjects he would love to paint, then makes his way back to Southwest Florida where he captures many of the area's unique, charming and picturesque landmarks.

Refreshments and light treats will be served. Musical accompaniment will be provided by Corky and Company.

The gallery will also feature Anisa Stewart, a sterling silver wildlife and animal jeweler.

A native of Fort Myers, Stewart started apprenticing for a local award winning jewelry designer at 16. She has won four national design awards for her work. Her love of the subtropics and the Gulf is the inspiration for her jewelry.

Artist opening receptions at the Seaweed Gallery are held every second Friday of the month from November through May. Admission is free.
