Acting classes for life

Acting classes that teach life skills to area youngsters will begin on March 26 at the Lee County Alliance for the Arts.

Conducted by Shawn Holiday, the founder of Kids Conspiracy and presenter of hundreds of theatrical productions, the classes will use improvisational games and other exercises to create better actors and more effective communicators. The course will culminate in a brief performance on a real stage for family and friends.

Three classes are offered: Acting for Life (ages 8 to 13) for eight Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 pm beginning March 27; Pint Size Performers (ages 4 to 7) for six Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 pm beginning April 3; and Acting for Homeschoolers (ages 8 to 13) on Wednesdays from 10 am to noon.

All classes will be held at the Lee County Alliance for the Arts, 100091 McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers. Cost is $110; $90 for Alliance members. Call 939-2787 or visit www.artinlee.org.
