Summer camp teaches about nature's dangers

Parents who sign up their children for the Conservancy of Southwest Florida Summer Camp this year can choose from two new day camp adventures. One adventure program focuses on predators like panthers, hawks and sharks, while a danger program discusses poisonous plants and animals.

Programs are for graduates of Kindergarten through eighth grade. Campers are divided into age groups for age appropriate programs that include trail walks, boat rides and field trips.

The Conservancy Summer Camp program is available from June 9 through August 8 with a one week break June 30-July 4. Conservancy members can register early from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 31. Members receive discounted prices. Registration opens to the public on April 1.

The camp is located at the Conservancy Nature Center, 1450 Merrihue Drive, Naples. To register, call (239) 403-4236.
