Hope Hospice promotes National Healthcare Decisions Day

Hope Hospice and Community Services, along with other healthcare organizations across the country, is leading an effort to highlight the importance of advance healthcare decision-making - an effort that has culminated in the formal designation of April 16 as National Healthcare Decisions Day.

Hope Hospice and Community Services provides information and tools for people to talk comfortably about their end-of-life wishes with family, friends and healthcare providers. Hope President and CEO Samira K. Beckwith said Advance Directives are simple forms that are records of your choices, goals and instructions for your future medical care in the event you become unable to speak for yourself.

"This is much more than simply getting your records in order," she said. "This is one of the greatest gifts that a person can give to their family."
