Shell Point hosting open house

Shell Point Retirement Community will host an Assisted Living Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10 at the Arbor Assisted Living Facility located in The Woodlands at Shell Point.

"Occupancy in assisted living facilities has gone up across the country as families seek alternatives to nursing care for parents who may need assistance with the activities of daily living, but do not require full time skilled nursing," said Rita Southern, director of assisted living facilities and resident support services. "Assisted living provides a more home-like environment while improving the daily quality of life through a variety of amenities."

This event will offer tours of the Arbor, and presentations throughout the day to provide information on assisted living at Shell Point. Refreshments and entertainment will be available. Visit the on-site medical facility, chapel, gift shop, restaurant, fitness area and more.

Shell Point has two assisted living facilities on site, the Arbor Assisted Living and King's Crown. The Arbor Assisted Living is an elegant center with a total of 132 units, and a variety of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans. One of the most unique features at the Arbor Assisted Living is the in-house medical center with a full array of qualified medical personnel. Amenities on site for residents include a full-time activities staff, fitness center, salon, game rooms, chapel, library, and a number of social areas throughout the building. In addition to the main elegant dining room, country kitchens are located on each residential floor.

The King's Crown features 120 residential units with studio and one-bedroom floor plans, an expansive private dining room, library, computer station, and a variety of activity and gathering spaces.
